Service Description
The adult ASSIST service currently provides both one-to-one and group support for those who have a diagnosis of autism or are seeking one. Through SWP, we will be extending this service to young people aged 16-18 years to help support the transition between children and adult services.
Young people receive one-to-one appointments on a weekly or needs-led basis. The service is bespoke, but typically includes support to:
- Understand and process their needs or diagnosis
- Identify strategies that support independence and wellbeing
- Develop peer networks
All appointments are virtual.
Requests for support/criteria
A child or young person does not need to have a diagnosis of autism for them or their family to be able to access our services; they may instead have social and communication difficulties or autism traits identified by the child, parent, or supporting professionals.
