Community Wellbeing Team

Service Description

The Community Wellbeing Teams offer support to children and young people, aged 8-18, to help support their mental health and emotional wellbeing. They help families to navigate the choices available and engage with services. Children, young people and families can interact with the Community Wellbeing Team in person at a wide range of community settings, or virtually (by phone or computer). 

Support might include:

• Regular 1:1 meetings (up to 8 weeks) or small group support
• Getting tailored advice and guidance
• Help to access relevant resources
• Help to attend local groups
• Finding other support in the local community
• Parent workshops

The Community Wellbeing Team also build networks with and develop training and support for adults who work with children and young people (such as school lunch monitors, youth group and sports club leaders). This enables them to have supportive conversations and know how to help children and young people and where to take or direct them.

National Autistic Society also offer Community Wellbeing Team support specifically for families of children with autism (Autism Spectrum Condition), focusing on the 16+ age group.
