Who we are

Amplify is the Shadow Leadership Board for Mindworks Surrey (Surrey’s Children, Young People’s Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Service). This means that we are expected to attend meetings and be involved in decision-making at the highest levels of Mindworks. Our main purpose is to diversify the voices in these meetings to make sure that children and young people are included in key decision-making. As such, there is an expectation the Amplify members will be available to join Board meetings on rotation where possible (usually on Mondays or Tuesdays).

Amplify choose 1-3 focus areas each year which helps us decide what projects to do, to improve the experience of children and young people in these areas. This year, we are interested in neurodevelopmental services, supporting LGBTQ+ young people, participation, transition between children and adult mental health services and schools. Previously, we have run 3 public wellbeing events, fully decided upon and organised by Amplify with the support of Mindworks staff.

Benefits

Amplify allows you to meet many new people, gain confidence in yourself and makes you feel like your voice is being heard. (It’s also great for young people’s CV’s!)

Interested in joining?

Amplify members should be aged 16-25, however, we accept applications from 15-year-olds if a supported transition process would be helpful.

Enquire today about joining.

When we meet

Amplify currently meet Wednesday evenings 18:30/45-20:15/30 on Teams, with occasional ad-hoc in-person meetings.

Being in this group has given me a sense of pride as I know that my input can help improve the mental health services which could help many young people and even save some lives.
